First Behavioral Health Consult

Our practice has developed a process for appropriate assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning regarding presenting emotional and psychiatric needs of our patients through our First Behavioral Health Consult, or “FBC” process.

This is an extended visit with a Peak Pediatrics Physician to address patients’ emotional and behavioral health needs, such as ADHD, depression, anxiety, school difficulties, and social, or developmental concerns. Our Providers will guide you in the right direction for treatment and access to evidence-based services, such as therapies and medication management.

Complete the appropriate FBC Form:

To schedule: please email the completed packet to our Behavioral Health Intake Coordinator at bhc@peakpediatrics.com. Once the packet is received, she will call you to schedule the appointment.

You will be asked to activate your MyChart account. See MyChart instructions here.

Therapy Assessment

These appointments are with our Behavioral Health Specialists to assess needs and possible resources, as well as provide support and coping skill development. A plan of care will be created, which may include individual short-term therapy, brief skill-building sessions, and/or referrals for long-term therapy.

  • Please call our main line at 303-996-6005 to start the appointment process with our schedulers.
  • These appointments take place virtually via telehealth, and we will offer in-person services when possible.

Follow-up Medication check

If your child is currently on a behavioral health medication started by a Peak Pediatrics physician, you will need a follow-up medication check at least every three months.

Healthy Steps Program

Peak Pediatrics is a Healthy Steps Practice. Healthy Steps is an evidence-based preventative program through ZERO TO THREE to support healthy child development, with a focus on children from birth to three years old.

The mission of this program is to promote positive connections and social-emotional engagement through a parent-child relational, family approach. We utilize a team-approach to care where our Healthy Steps Specialists and Pediatricians will work together with enrolled families during their well-child checks to provide support and education on early childhood development and parent and child health needs.
